IT Inventory System for Android v1.2.0

In view of the lack of Inventory System specifically for the IT industry in the market, Algorithm System Consultant's IT Inventory System is act as an IT warehousing system that stores all information about software and hardware installed in user's PC. For ease of use, the system was designed in an Excel-like user interface. The design is very close to an Excel interface and of course, in a structured and systematic way! More functions will be added to the system in the future. However, most of the basic functions are developed and any comments are all welcome.

IT Inventory System is now release to the public and offer to download for FREE now! It is free of charge for both commercial and personal use and are not time restricted. Free version comes with a standalone database inside the Android device while Microsoft® SQL Server version is available in Full version, operation efficiency was significantly enhanced. Login Screen

 

Main Menu

This is the place where you can find most of the major functionalities of the IT Inventory System.

 

Company Master

This is the place to input information for all companies in an organization.

 

Department Master

Function:
This screen is used to store department information in a company.

Description:
In this screen, select the Company ID that belongs to that department, and then enter Department ID and Name to complete the process. Department ID/Name can be duplicated provided that Company ID is not the same, since different companies can have the same department within an organization. This is allowed in the system.

 

Staff Details

Function:
This is used to enter staff information.

Description:
Before create any hardware/software list in this system, staffs must be created first from this screen. Select the Company and Department ID of this staff and enter other staff information. After Company ID has been selected, only those departments belongs to that company will be listed in the Department ID combo box as shown.

Software Master

Function:
This form is used to store the software information.

Description:
All software names should be entered in this screen in order to create the software list. The legends at the bottom of the screen (Paper License, OEM Version, Box Set) indicate the purchasing option of the respective softwares. This legend will also appear in the "Software List" as in the next section.

Display Position: This is used to sort the software in [Software List], by default, it will be sorted in ascending order of Software Name if "Display Position" not entered.

License Qty: Quantity purchased from software vendor.

Used Qty: In gray color and auto-calculated by the system for which total used quantity were captured in [Software List].

Remain Qty: Calculated by purchased license quantity deduct used quantity, this help IT Department to control the number of licensed software installed in user's computer. All negative Remain Qty was shown in red color.

 

 

Software List

Function:
This is used to store the information about the software installed in user's PC.

Description:
This is the core part of the IT Inventory System.  All software installed in user’s PC should be recorded in this screen.  Columns with color in pink indicate software comes with Paper License; color in yellow indicates OEM Version software; color in green indicates this is a Box Set software.  The total number of software in this system can be infinitely extended, i.e. you can add any number of software in the IT Inventory System, provided that system memory is enough.

 

 

Hardware Master

Function:
This form is used to store the hardware information.

Description:
All hardware names should be entered in this screen in order to create the hardware list.

Display Position: This is used to sort the hardware in [Hardware List], by default, it will be sorted in ascending order of Hardware Name if Display Position not entered.

 

Hardware List

Function:
This is used to store the information about the hardware installed in user's PC.

Description:
This is the core part of the IT Inventory System. Hardware installed in user's PC were all recorded in this screen. The total number of hardware in this system can be infinitely extended, i.e. you can add any number of hardware in the IT Inventory System, provided that system memory is enough.

 

 

User Login Maintenance

Function:
Add or remove users that use the IT Inventory System.

Description:
Only the users listed here are permitted to log in to the IT Inventory System. Select the User ID in the combo box and edit his/her information. Press the [Save] button to confirm changes. Press [Add Login] button to add a new user login. To do this, you should select an existing staff from the staff list. The concept is, all staff/user information shares the same source and only those users that added into this screen has got the rights to log in to this system. Press [Remove Login] to remove this rights. User record will not be actually removed by pressing [Remove Login] button but only access rights will be removed.

 

Software Key

Function:
This is the place to store software license keys.

Description:
Select the Software Name to store license key, you can also specify which user and which computer that installed this license. Staff ID and Computer Name is not mandatory.

 

IP List

Function:
Maintain IP tables within an organization.

Description:
IT Department always need to maintain a set of IP tables that store the related computer information, for e.g., Staff ID, Computer Name, MAC Address etc. Many organizations have got many sets of IP range in their local area network, it makes the maintenance work more difficult. Because of this reason, IT Inventory System allows users to create unlimited set of IP tables to help administrators to easily complete their maintenance work. When creating an IP table, user is only need to input the IP range, all other information (Staff ID, Computer Name, MAC Address) were collected by the system automatically!

 

Find Function

Function:
Find and filter ANY information from ALL screens.

Description:
The "Find" function is available in all screens throughout the IT Inventory System. This is the most amazing function in our system.

You can search any text within all fields in the current screen.

Reset Button: After filtering of the information, press this button to reset the filter.

 

 

Settings

System Language: Either English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. Language displayed will be changed immediately after pressing the Back button in the Android device, no system restart is required. A multilingual system is particularly important in multilingual district such as Hong Kong.

Font Size: Set the font size of the displayed data. This will affect the display of data only, menu and button size will not be affected.
